The Brentwood High School Bruins battled the Cane Ridge High School Ravens the entire game, but came up short in the end 27-24.

The Bruins know the elation felt on the other side line. Only last week they were the team kicking a field goal to win against rival Franklin High School.

Brentwood sophomore quarterback Cade Granzow was impressive in the loss. He threw for 241 yards and a touchdown.

Senior running back Jordan Nicholas was on the receiving end for 86 of those yards. The versatile back also rushed for 86 yards.

The two teams each scored a touchdown in the first quarter, and each were unable to score in the second quarter as the teams headed to the locker room tied 7-7 at the half.

Cane Ridge made a move in the third quarter, scoring 20 points to Brentwood’s 14. Bruins found themselves down six points entering the final period.

Although the Bruins were able to hold Cane Ridge scoreless in the fourth, unfortunately for Brentwood, they were only able to manage a field goal themselves when the needed a touchdown.

Cane Ridge was led by a balanced running attack that featured three seniors.
